Author: Susan Williams Beckhorn; illustrated by Helen Stevens
Hardcover, 32 pages, 32 color illustrations, 8" x 10".
Moose Eggs is the whimsical story of two earnest but not very well informed friends, Moose and his buddy Grouse, who attempt to find and incubate "moose eggs" so Moose can have some youngsters to raise. No surprise that they are not successful. Fortunately, Moose's wife and Mrs. Grouse manage to take care of the child-rearing business quite well despite their partners' misguided attempts to be helpful.
In this just-so story, author Susan Beckhorn gives young readers a charmingly imaginative explanation of how Moose got his big, flat antlers; droopy nose; and seemingly too-large feet.
